"A Blast from the Past!"
Episode 9 ・ Reflection Galaxy
Get Ready!
Part 1

Last time on
Star Stuff!

We traveled to Underwater Galaxy, where Cordy and Lem were waiting to capture us!
LUZ

But we were saved by Valeria, who agreed to leave with those two. In return, they'd leave us alone.
JAZMIN

I felt so confused...but Ed was there to help us out! He chased down Cordy and Lem while the rest of us restored stars.
LUZ

Seeing that you fixed up the galaxy, Cordy and Lem brought me back. But I felt like you all didn't need me anymore...
VALERIA

But you helped me see that's not true. I don't have to be perfect to be part of the team. Thanks everyone.
VALERIA

Of course. Cordy and Lem did end up capturing us after all that...but at least we're together!
LUZ

Our story continues...

Hello, Wolf? This is Cordy. Good news — we caught the rebels.
CORDY

Excellent work!! Now go ahead and trap them in our Reflection Galaxy!
WOLF

Oh...you don't want us to bring them to you? N-not that I'm questioning you, of course!
LEM

They're just a bunch of kids, right? I trust you two can handle them without me. I'm very busy doing...other stuff!
WOLF

Right...of course. We'll need to refuel our ship at the station, but we'll head over to you after that. Cordy and Lem, out.
CORDY

Great, great! Ooh, the ice sculpture of my face is here! Gotta go, byeee!
WOLF

We're here. Everyone, follow me.
CORDY

You two really think you can trap us at a regular station?
VALERIA

It's not regular, it's controlled by Wolf! We have special mirror rooms here that can trap you by confusing your senses...including your memories!
LEM

Yikes, that sounds bad. If those two end up leaving without us, we'll be stranded here — our spaceship's back at Underwater Galaxy.
LUZ (THINKING)

We can't give up, though. We're so close to bringing Wolf down, I can feel it...
LUZ (THINKING)

Everyone...try to stay calm. Wolf's underestimating us again. Even if we're separated, I'm sure we'll all find a way out!
LUZ
A while later...

Ugh...where am I? What are all these mirrors around me...?
LUZ

I can't even see my own reflection clearly...who am I again?
LUZ

Ah, wait...my uniform. That's right, I'm Luz. I'm a star-maker at Rainbow Galaxy.
LUZ

Star-making is boring, though. We just watch the bots do everything...
LUZ

No, no, that's not right. That's how it used to be, but...things are different now. I'm different now.
LUZ

Because of Valeria, I learned how to use the old star-making technology. That's how we've been restoring stars, after Wolf took over everything.
LUZ

We learned how to code the bots from scratch. It was a little scary at first, and we made a lot of mistakes...
LUZ

Like that time we learned the importance of coding the right sequence — a set of steps in order.
LUZ

To do that, we looked at how all the puzzle pieces connected, starting from the goal. Then we'd trace the path backwards from there.
LUZ

Right...we've solved so many puzzles by now, it's not scary anymore. And because of that...
LUZ

...I'm confident that I'll find a way out of here!
LUZ

Oh! My reflection's back to normal...and I can see the way out! Looks like I need to solve a couple puzzles to get there...no problem, I got this!
LUZ
Meanwhile, Jazmin...

Oof...I feel dizzy...
JAZMIN

That reflection...is that me? It's too cloudy to see...
JAZMIN

I guess I've always been hiding...scared to talk to others, even though I really wanted to.
JAZMIN

Instead I'd always just read alone. Like...this bot manual...
JAZMIN

...Oh! That's right, I'm a star-maker at Garden Galaxy! That's where I met Luz and Valeria...
JAZMIN

Thanks to them, I worked up the courage to talk to others...I even got to try coding bots after reading about it so much!
JAZMIN

We solved lots of puzzles, including some where two bots needed to work together. It was confusing at first, seeing them move at the same time...
JAZMIN

So we figured out how to make the bots take turns instead! But...how did we do that, again? I think there was a specific command we used...

Of course, we use "wait for"! That way we can make one bot pause and wait for a specific signal while the other bot moves around.
JAZMIN

Okay...everything's coming back to me! I'll be out of here soon — I've gotta find my friends, after all!
JAZMIN
Meanwhile, Emilio...

Urgh, what's this mirror...? Why is there a crack in it?! So annoying...
EMILIO

What am I doing here anyway?? There must be some reason. Guess I should just sit tight and wait for orders...
EMILIO

...Hm? What's this scroll? Problem-solving steps...?
EMILIO

...Wait! Why should I sit around? I can solve my own problems! I'm a proud star-maker from Bakery Galaxy!!
EMILIO

That's where I met my friends! At first, I thought what they were doing was wrong, just because it was different...
EMILIO

But they showed me it's fun to try new things! Together, we learned how to debug — find and fix mistakes in code!
EMILIO

When we have a bug, we have to understand it first. We need to know what happened, and why it's a problem.
EMILIO

Then we plan a solution — we think about what should happen instead, and how we could do that.
EMILIO

Once we have a solution, we try it. Finally, we reflect on the solution — see why it did or didn't work!
EMILIO

Alright! With this recipe, I can find a way out! This might not be the perfect answer, but...
EMILIO

(yah!)
EMILIO

...Okay, that was one way to do it! You gotta think outside the box sometimes!
EMILIO
Meanwhile, Brick...

Woah. Being in here is so...weird.
BRICK

Hey, is that really me? I look pretty hilarious, to be honest!
BRICK

...Yeah. I could never forget that I'm Brick, a popular MyBlox live streamer!
BRICK

But...is that all I am?
BRICK

No, hold on. These new people in my Talk-It...that's right, I made real friends recently! I even told them that my real name's Derrick.
BRICK

We streamed together to fight back against Wolf! They taught me all about coding, including my favorite — loops!
BRICK

Repeating everything is fun, but I have to remember to ask myself: What code needs to repeat? What code doesn't need to repeat?
BRICK

Code that doesn't need to repeat can go before the loop, above the arrow! That way it'll only run one time.

...I got it! Since 'jump to' loops repeat forever, any code that comes after a loop would never run. So no point in adding code there!

Everything's clear to me now...and my reflection's looking good, too! Can't leave the people waiting — Brick is gonna break out of here!
BRICK
Meanwhile, Valeria...

...So this is my mirror, huh? Always trying to be a million things at once...and trying to be perfect at all of it.
VALERIA

...Heh. I see. Maybe seeing myself like this would've bothered me earlier...but it won't work on me now.
VALERIA

After all, I already know how it feels to doubt myself, to feel the pressure...but my friends pulled me back to the surface.
VALERIA

It's okay if I'm not always the leader, because my friends can be great leaders too. Which reminds me...
VALERIA

Luz caught me up on what they learned at Underwater Galaxy. Some bots needed loops, and some didn't.
VALERIA

They looked at each bot's purpose in a puzzle to figure out which ones needed loops, and which didn't. I wish I could've tried it myself, but...
VALERIA

I'm proud of them for figuring it out. And proud of myself for not giving up throughout this whole adventure.
VALERIA

Ah, there we go...I see the way out. I'm sure everyone else is figuring this out, too.
VALERIA

Just a few puzzles ahead, and we'll reunite. Let's do this! Star Transformer...
VALERIA

Make me a star!

Part 3

Alright, I finished all the puzzles...but what's with this huge mirror?
LUZ

Luz, you're here too! Thank the stars you're okay!
JAZMIN

...Aaand I'm out! Woah, a big mirror?! Should I break this one, too...?
EMILIO

Wait, you literally broke your mirror to escape? Now I wanna try that!
BRICK

Oh cool, everyone's here. I don't think we need to break anything...look at the mirror.
VALERIA

...It's reacting to all the stardust we gathered? Does that mean we have enough to make a new star?
LUZ

Yeah, looks like it! Hey, I have an idea for a design — everyone, smile!
BRICK

...It's the reflection of all five of us! What a wonderful idea, Brick!
JAZMIN

Ha! Cordy and Lem will be furious if they see this.
VALERIA

Speaking of Cordy and Lem — look, they're about to leave! Let's hurry!
EMILIO

You...?! How did you all escape?!
LEM

Ugh...I should've seen this coming. I had a feeling the stars here might still react to strong wishes.
CORDY

What do we now?? Get the giant net again??
LEM

Calm down, Lem. Our spaceship is their only way out of here...I'm guessing you all want to make some kind of deal, right?
CORDY

That's right. You two would look bad if Wolf knew we escaped under your watch, yeah?
VALERIA

If you take us directly to him, we'll keep quiet about that. We'll even act like we tried to escape, but you stopped us.
VALERIA

...Keep talking. Why do you want to see Wolf in the first place?
CORDY

Because...we're ready to settle this. For good.
LUZ

W-what?! You really think you stand a chance against Wolf??
LEM

Of course we do! Look at all the galaxies we restored already — the number of Wolf stars keeps going down!
EMILIO

And because of that, people are starting to remember their real wishes and passion! Wolf might still have supporters, but so do we!
BRICK

Y-yeah!! Plus, we've taught a lot of other stations how to make their own stars by coding! So...the galaxies will keep getting more and more diverse!
JAZMIN

...Tsk. Fine, you have a deal. At least we know what you're doing if you're all with us.
CORDY

Grr....whatever!! I'll go let Wolf know we're coming! Don't bother me, okay??
LEM

This is it, everyone. Next time, we'll face Wolf — we better think of a few different plans.
VALERIA

...Yeah. We can do this. After all, the people we've met along the way have placed their hope in us.
LUZ

And I believe in us, too. Is everyone with me?
LUZ

Yeah!!!
EVERYONE

Let's get going, before those two change their minds. This will be our last stop...Wolf's galaxy.
VALERIA
Until next time...
