"The Final Showdown"
Episode 10 ・ The Keepers' HQ
Get Ready!
Part 1

Last time on
The Rewriters!

The Rewriters arrived at the
bus station, ready to travel to the
Keepers’ headquarters...
Luna

Only to meet Lopi, who ordered her shrubs
to destroy the WIN blocks in every region!
Luna

Using Menti's bus pass,
the Rewriters traveled to each region
and stopped all the shrubs!
Luna

Having protected the WIN blocks,
the team returned to the station. There,
they met Lino, the other Headkeeper!
Luna

With neither side backing down,
the Rewriters and the Keepers decided to
settle things once and for all!
Luna

Our story continues...

We've made it — we're right
outside the Keepers’ HQ!
Menti

Everyone, we’re heading in!!
Sol

Ah, you’re finally here. It’s rude
to keep someone waiting, you know?
Lino

...Though I suppose we should be
grateful you’ve traveled all this way.
Shouldn’t we, Lopi?
Lino

Mwehehe! That’s right, Lino...
they’ve fallen right into our trap!
Lopi

Wh-what do you mean?
Zorro

Did you really think we’d
fight you fair and square?
Lopi

Shrubs! Get them!
Lopi

You may be strong as a team...
but what will you do if we take that away?
Lino

Urk...! I can’t move!
Menti

This is low...even for you two.
Menti

We simply do whatever it takes to WIN.
Lino

Shrubs, take them away.
Lino

Sol!! What do we do??
Olive

Everyone!! We’ll reunite, I promise!
Sol

We’re all Rewriters, after all...!
Sol

Meanwhile,
Zorro...

...Oof! The shrubs trapped us in different rooms...what should I do??
Zorro

...Okay, stay calm.
I can do this – I’m a Rewriter!
Zorro

I’ve seen so many problems by now...
this is just like any other.
Zorro

I should start by understanding the
problem. Good thing I still have the
scroll to help me with that!
Zorro

Problem-Solving Steps
1. Understand the problem
- What do I notice and what could be useful?
- What is the goal?
- What is blocking me from the goal? Why?
Once I’m out of here, maybe I can find
Morel and Enoki, too...!
Zorro

Meanwhile,
Morel and Enoki...

Oh my, we’re stuck again...the Keepers
just won’t back down, will they?
Morel

goo...
Enoki

You’re right, Enoki. We can’t just sit here
and wait for Sol to rescue us.
Morel

There must be something we can do.
Something new we can try.
Morel

g-go...
Enoki

Go for it, Papa!
Enoki

...Enoki?! Th-those were your first words!!
Morel

Ah, I’m so happy...Enoki,
you always surprise me...!
Morel

...Alright, we can do this! Let’s look at
what’s blocking us, then find a way past it.
Morel

...I think I heard Olive’s voice next door — perhaps we can reunite with her soon!
Morel

Meanwhile,
Olive...

So the Keepers prepared rooms for all of
us, huh? Fitting for a grand finale!
Olive

And what an interesting problem
they’ve given me – so many objects I’ve
never seen before!
Olive

I do want to take my time checking
them all out, but...
Olive

...that can come after
I plan my great escape!
Olive

Problem-Solving Steps
2. Plan a solution
- How can I break this problem into smaller steps?
-
What order should I do these steps in?
And once I’m free, I’ll go find Menti!
Now, it’s showtime~
Olive

Meanwhile,
Menti...

Menti

...Ugh. Back here again...alone.

I hope everyone else is okay. I’m sorry
I couldn’t protect you...

Menti

...I just have to trust them.
They’re all strong, in their own way.

Menti

For now, I should try something to get out
of here. And if my plan doesn’t work...

Menti
Menti

Then I’ll reflect on it to figure out a new plan! I’ll make it out of here, no matter
how many times I fail.
Problem-Solving Steps
4. Reflect on the solution

3. Try the solution
- Did the plan work? Why or why not?
-
How should I revise my plan if it didn't work?
Problem-Solving Steps

Sol...I’ll find you soon, for sure!

Menti
Meanwhile,
Sol...

...Everyone got separated.
Was this a mistake...?
Sol

No, it’s okay. I may be alone
right now, but I still remember everything
we’ve done together.
Sol

All the things we’ve tried, all the
problems we’ve solved step-by-step...
I have it right here!
Sol

Sol

Using this scroll we’ve made along the way,
I’ll definitely find a way out!

- Understand the problem
- Plan a solution
- Try the solution
- Reflect on the solution
Which step of the problem-solving process did you find most helpful? Why?
Let's Pair Share!

I know everyone else is trying
their best right now...so I will, too!
Sol

We’ll show the Keepers...
that the Rewriters don’t give up!
Sol

Keep Going!
